Paganism is based on ignorance, which is a root of evil. Some pagan religions, don't distinguish between right or wrong, only pleasure and pain; that too is evil.
-
Harry Potter is full of pagan symbols & Illuminati stuff.. its obvious really, its about witchcraft & ceramonial magic. More youngsters got into doing 'spells' after HP hit the book shelves & cinema.
If you do have any of these books.. don't burn them, (there's a reason for that) .. bin them!

I'm sorry but I'm a heavily educated Muslim and very religious alhamdulillah but I'm also a big harry potter fan, there's nothing evil about it, it's just a beautiful story about overcoming struggles. Please stop overreacting, you're making us Muslims look bad

In the Arabic translation of the aramaic(original) bible calls God-The Father-Allah, which is a translation before latin, english, and before Prophet Mohammed(saw) was born. The arabs living in Mecca date back to the time of Abraham and Ishmael. Ishmael according to Muslims was a prophet and they called God-Allah. When the arabs went astray they made idols and associated them with God so you are right partially.

Why are the monothiestic faiths so damn scared of EVERYTHING? Is it just an attempt to keep cowed down and stuffing the collection plate? Follow the Golden Rule and don't make too big a scene of yourself. Being uptight about things too far beyond that leads to evil not enlightenment.

@sesshy34 first of all, Allah has been worshiped long before mohammed (pbuh), Adam, the first human did worship Allah, also mohammed was not the first messenger, many have came before him advising to worship the same god Allah (which is arabic for god).
What you mention about those man made rock gods, those were made by the kufar who didnt worship god neither through christianity nor judaism. islam forbids worshiping any other entity but the almighty and only God.
-
What Pagan God ? 90% of the Muslims are not aware that "Allah" is a Pagan Meccan Rock God worshipped even before Muhammad's reign along with a host of other Gods. Go look up "Allah" in Wikipedia to know more about how Meccans worshipped "Allah" and other Pagan Gods even before the reign of Muhammad. What Muhammad did was to unify all these Gods into a concept of one god "Allah". Islam has it's roots in the Meccan version of "Allah", who was derived from Ancient Sumerian Pagan God - "Ishtar".

: )
On that note, it's prolly best if I rest my case.

They are gods of two different activities. Odin is god of wisdom, poetry, war, and death, so he would be called on by warriors, chiefs, and poets. Thor is god of thunder, storms, and travelers, so farmers and common people would call on him for rain and protection while traveling. Wtih polytheism, you can pray to the god best suited to what you need at the time, or devote yourself to whatever god you feel a personal connection to.
-
Well I thought my first example was better(Thor causing lightning and thunder), but anyway, here's another one: Thor's dad is Odin right? So that means that Odin is more powerful than Thor. Then why bother with Thor when Odin is more powerful?
-
How is polytheism ignorant? I have yet to hear a good explanation of why it is primitive/uncivilized to believe in more than one god. Please, enlighten me.
-
Well the polytheistic belief that Thor causes thunder and lightning is just plain ignorant, imo.
Socrates wasn't ignorant I'll give you that; he was amongst the first of the ancient greeks to disregard polytheism(The Sophists) and he was martyred for it.
