Ndadaye and the prelude to the 1993 genocide against Tutsi.AVI

In this rally held in Kayanza in May 1993, Ndadaye is mobilizing his followers to capture and bind ethnic Tutsi. Using a highly figurative language, he equates FRODEBU members with the Hutu ethnic group ("We are 5 million," he says; yet FRODEBU could not have so many members the total number of potential voters then was slightly over 2 million. Ndadaye also equates the Tutsi with UPRONA members: "they are such a minority that they can fit in [this] palm. If they start a fire, we will put it out, and bind them." Thus, as ascertained by this report by an International Commission of Inquiry that was appointed by the UN http://www.undemocracy.com/S-1996-682/page_74 , before being masacred, most Tutsis, especially male elements, were first bound by FRODEBU members.
Also, contrary to the widely spread inaccuracies that "the Hutu killed the Tutsi's and vice versa," the reality is that it's FRODEBU party and its militia, i.e. today's ruling CNDDFDD party, that perpertrated genocide. In other words, just as the Nazis, not the German people, massacred the Jews were; in Burundi, the massacre of ethnic Tutsi in October 1993 and in the years that followed, was carried out not by the Hutu ethnic group, but by FRODEBU and its CNDDFDD militia.

Shame on these comments that support Ndadaye's genocidal agenda.

- Ndadaye did not survive the genocide of 1972 as it was targeting the Tutsi;

- Ndadaye's PM, Sylvie Kinigi, was not a UPRONA member but a FRODEBU stooge, she didn't condemn the massacres of UPRONA members by Ndadaye's militias-

- FRODEBU militias to committed genocide following a plan called CODDE, or convention pour la defense de la democratie; no surprise then that the militias that carried on the genocide were named CNDD

In addition Ndadye was a Gandhi like figure. He had survived the 1972 genocide against his people as well as years of confinement in a Government prison under brutal conditions. In spite of this he forgave the Tutsis and wanted to work with them. He encouraged only non-violent resistance and was openly willing to work with Buyoya(even though he put him in that prison) to form a bi-Partisan cabinet. If he had survived there would likely have been no genocide in Burundi or Rwanda.

Ok if Ndadaye was such a bigot why did he appoint a Tutsi Uprona member as his vice President and others in his cabinet. There was no "Frodebu militia" at that time. The genocide happened when Hutu peasants angry at seeing their beloved President killed and the Tutsi military(who had massacred hundreds of thousands of them) take over again. Unfortunately they took out their anger on their Tutsi neighbors. However there were no plans in the Frodebu party to exterminate the Tutsis.

the interpretation is wrong. the motivation for this interpretion is unknow. He was speaking saying that, he has supporter are more than 5 millions (which included hutu and Tutsi). You could not be more wrong. Facts show that by killing H.E President Ndadaye the Tutsi-led military started off the civil war. The reaction of the Hutu population can not be compared to the aftermaths led by Buyoya where thousands of Hutu were slaughted. The genocide that you claim took place started after Buyoya II. You should not take advantage of youtube to misleading people!
