So I finally bought a new iSight camera for my iMac after a year and a half. I figured I would record it to help people learn how to replace an iSight. Well a few bad camera angles, lack of tools, and a big surprise later this ended up being the worst "how to" video I have ever made or seen. So I'm sorry. I know I'm going to get some hate for even posting this.

  • ummmmm' my imac camera ...th green light on it doesnt come on anymore and my photobooth application dont workk; is it broken?? can it be replaced??

  • hey, listen. i got an isight here that when i boot it up, the mouse and keyboard don't respond when it reaches the desktop. i tried all these commands like going into open firmware etc... even when it was in OF, it still didn't let me type anything.

Now when I boot it, it just stays on a black screen after the chime. No go :(

  • how big ur imac?

  • I just had the same problem. After a previous repair the apple man had not reconnected the wire. I did not finish the repair myself but the apple store had to do it for me (in one or another the case was sticking on the frame. They confirmed the wires were loose and did the repair without a charge for payment.

    Thanks for your film.

  • Do you know if the LCD screen on one of these can be replaced?

  • Thats not just the monitor you know. Its the whole computer and its easy to take apart that way. They don't make them like that anymore.

  • The scene from Jerry McGuire? I'll leave the comedy to the pros :-)
