08220 1st start up in preservation at Ruddington

08220 was succesfully started up today at Ruddington on the GCRN, this is the 1st time the engine has been started in preservation and also the 1st time for over 23 years after being withdrawn from service in March 1986.

The exhaust had not yet been fitted to the loco, as this is still receiving some attention and must say the noise was amazing, for more information on the locos visit our website at www.englishelectricpreservation.co.uk and also for running dates and information about the GCRN

Seems along time since I first "viewed" this loco sat in a bush in the yard at Carnforth.

Good job we didn't take it on face value as it was the worst "complete" 08 i'd ever seen, but, you can't beat a good challenge!
