Ride along on a Finger Lakes Railway excursion from Solvay to Martisco Station and beyond, then back again. Motive power were the Central New York Railway Historical Society's matched E8a engines and one of thee Finger Lakes's GP-9s. The stop at Martisco provided lots of opportunities for the younger railfans to play on real engines. Filmed in May of 2002. Nice video, brings back memories. Sometimes I miss the old NYS&W Long Island cars, then I remember how much of a pain it was to open the windows and doors. OnTrack used these for years on the Orange Express until some ex. METRA cars were obtained in 2003/2004 and used until service ended in 2008. The Long Islands were ultimately sold to the NYS&W T&HS.
