  • @tubaeli93 A Fret leveller (for example a sand paper block with a radius matching the fingerboard) is used to level the frets so they are all the same height. It also flattens then which is a no no. So you need to them crown the frets to they have a nice round head head on them giving the string a more focused point to rest on when the guitar is fretted.

  • is there something we can use instead

  • I don't know why idiots come on here and bash this guy? What he said it 100% true. Yes, you use crowning files....no, you do not want your frets flat (that's what happens to them as they wear) ...yes, you want the fret "plane" to be level. Now, he didn't walk us through it...and he could have been a bit more graphic and clear about things...but he's spot on. I think the problem with expert village is that they don't control the segment directions enough. Which can lead to a meandering lesson.

  • this guy has serious problems with guitar frets

  • I thought the file was to flatten the fret so it isn't round?!?!? I'm confused...

  • Sweet! I love learning absolutely nothing!

  • @Augustua believe me what he is saying is complete bull shit read all of the bad coments

yes its possible to file the frets but thats called a fret dress with a special device were you smoth all the frets

i have a guitar tech who has been in he buisness for years who does all my guitars when he saw the video of this clown filing down 1 fret he couldnt believe it . the guy is a fool rust me

  • so your saying what he is doing is fine?

the trust rod will help . i once did what he is saying years ago on a guitar with a disaster result and had to get the full guitar re fret

  • @redfenderguy what if truss rod doesn't help to reduce the fret buzz ? all your gotta do is either adjust the bridge or filing the fret.

  • are you for real ? explain to me how hes helped you?

in one of his videos he files down some frets something only a idiot would do like him

when you have fret buzz it can be fixed in other ways like trust rod ajustment you do not file down any frets

    the fucking idiot
