So today my 4-H group volunteered at a horse rescue. 3 horses there really struck me, but one horse stood out. Cody is the appaloosa in the first few clips. He was starved and neglected. his owners thought they were giving him to a rescue, but really it was just a guy who claimed he was a rescue, and took donations and money for his "rescue" and kept them for himself. meanwhile the horses people gave to him he just let starve. Cody was one of those horses. finally someone found out about the place and Live and let live, a real rescue, took in the horses. when cody arrived at the farm he was given 3 days to live, if that, by the vet. that was in december. as you can see in the video, he is severly emaciated, and that is after gaining 200 pounds sence entering Live and Let Live farm, imagine what he used to look like? it makes me sick that someone could look out the window everyday and see a horse in that condition, and do nothing about it, using the money that would have bought him food for personal uses. Some people in this world are sick, they make me sick. Honestly Cody is one of the sweetest horses i have ever met, ever. and knowing he could be so nice and sweet after what he's been through really gives me hope. in his eyes you could see all the suffering he's been through, yet he is so peaceful now. we groomed him for 2 hours, just running a soft brush over him again and again untill he shined.


Spend all your time waiting for that second chance
For the break that will make it ok
There's always some reason to feel not good enough
And it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction, oh beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
They may be empty and weightless, and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight ♥

This is really sad :/

I feel so sorry for the horribly treated horses-people own them to love them and care for them not to abuse them :'( its really not fair xxxx

I really don't understand how someone can do that to a horse. (Let alone anything really)

You know Emmett was starved? That's why he was in a rescue. He finally gained all his weight back after a whole year with his current owner and I'm not sure how long he was in the rescue, but his coat is still all messed up because of the malnutrition :/ (And Emmett is the sweetest boy ever!)

But it's great that you went out to help!

Rescues like that give me hope for the world :)
