Prayer Vigil with Priests on the eve of Solemnity of the Most Holy Heart of Jesus
Saint Peter's Square, 10 June 2010.

Salve Regina
Gregorian chant
Text: Hermann von Reichenau

Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae,
vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra, salve.
ad te clamamus exsules filii Hevae,
ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
in hac lacrimarum valle.
Eia, ergo, advocata nostra, illos tuos
misericordes oculos ad nos converte;
et Jesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui,
nobis post hoc exsilium ostende.
O clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo Maria.

  • @angelpacheco59 May be the reluctant Pope, but also one of the bravest. He was called to his mission in a very difficult time when everybody in this worls wants to announce te death of the Chuch but he stands there, convicted, strong, right in the center of the storm telling us, like Christ, "Don't fear". I feel proud and safe of having such a grat leader!

  • God save the Pope!

  • BELLISSIMA!

  • Ad te clamamus exsulis fili hevae!

Viva il papa.... thank you so much for this video!

  • @mrlogicalman1 actually I believe according to statistics you should warn your child about the threat of molestation from your family member, his/her teacher, his/her friend's parents, your neighbors, the Fed ex guy, a total stranger, then comes the priests, which make up a meager 0.5% of all priests in America

  • @NativeNewYorkGuy actually yes certain traditions and rituals did develop as time pass to further represents the theological aspect of worship. However the essence of the Catholic Faith (the Eucharist) originated not from the apostles or saints, but from Christ Himself, and was written in the Holy Scripture.

  • @Grmario85 Jesus and the apostles didn't forbid ritualistic prayers and neither did they forbid animal sacrifice. This here did NOT originate with the apostles or any of the early Christians...nothing wrong with ritualistic prayer but when tradition and ritual become too rigid and arrogant, Jesus did have quite a big problem with that.

  • @NativeNewYorkGuy I'm sorry but your argument doesn't make sense. They had to do a lot as they were people who followed proper worship, prayers and chants. Even after Jesus left the Gospel says the Disciples went to the Temple and prayed. So they were not against ritualistic prayers (like the Temple), against chants and incense (like the Temple) neither they forbade their followers to make chants or have bells as you sarcastically point out.
