Vanhalen will never be one of the most influental guitar players. He didn't invent Floyd Rose, he wasn't the first one to play tapping, furthermore, his playing is awful. Only for dumb metalheads.

Listen to early Journey music, pre Steve Perry. No lead guitarist in history has the melodic feel, combined with the technical virtuosity that Neal has. He's my favorite guitarist of all time.

@EwerLord That's why Ed is referred as "Second only to Hendrix" hahahaha Journey and Black Sabbath admitted that Van Halen blew them away on stage everynight. Ed turned everything around.

Neal and EVH are 2 of my main influences in my playing style. I like Neal for his melodic style with edge.. When I clicked on this video I thought,' ah he must be going through an EVH phase right there'.

Neal's been rippin since 1969 with santana so all of you mentioning Eddie sound so fucking dumb...and how is this a eddie solo rip off? i didn't see him tap one time or use a volume pedal..or flanger pedal or any pinch harmonics....you guys are waaayyy off ...Neal and eddie are both fucking amazing...show some respect to the greats

@EwerLord Eddie Van Halen along with Yngwie Malmsteen revolutionized guitar playing.. There's a reasonw hy they're fucking GUITAR LEGENDS. Obviously Eddie has gone to shit technically speaking now but in his prime he was great. So give credit where credit is due. There's a reason why their known and you aren't.
