Horse are STRONG. If they want to they WILL rip the reins out of your hands. Theres nothing these girls can do about it but laugh. And thats totaly fine, cause you know what? I would too. Since the horse would be much faster then I am, Im not going to panic and "attempt" to go run after it.

you shouldn't let your horse get away with that. if my horses or trainees bucks or trys anything on me they get a tune up big time, i don't tolerate it when horses do that

Haha I probably would've laughed too. I've had horses get away from me(what horse owner hasn't) and when they start acting all goofy it's hard not to laugh. They are strong animals and can hold their own and he's running in a fenced area so at least he wouldn't be near the road and you will eventually catch him. So in my opinion you handled it VERY well haha plus anyone who knows horses knows if you chase after them they will run in the opposite direction lol. This video made my morning.

@bns54913 how is it irresponsible?they can't just go RUN after it that'll make the horse run by making the chance bigger for him to step on the reins. and they didn't know it was coming so no it wasnt irresponsible. and who said they weren't worried?its hard to control a 1300 pound animal who is much stronger and faster. so they had a little laugh get over it he was fine

Unlucky at the end of the day, there was no way u were gunna hold on so u might as well have let him go..a good lunging that horsie needs before remounting i think ;)

most people don't ride with the halter on once they are tacked the take the halter off and lead the horse by the reins why because thats how you do it if she put the lead rope on where would you attach it? the bit? oh wait reins are attached to the bit. and then if the horse was to take off another rope to trip on. and chase after him? good luck catching him. they usually stop not far off and then you go walk up to your horse, dont chase a moody or spooky horse normally they just keep on running

Okay, how could she have gotten a leadrope that fast? Do you automatically have a leadrope when you get off a horse? I know I don't. I think it was stupid to sit & laugh. I would have been more worried that my horse would trip and fall over the reins. I think they should have been more concerned for the horse instead of sitting there having a good time about it. He could have hurt himself. I would have been running right after him. It was an accident, the horse spooked, but still irresponsible.

I think that if a horse was like that, i wouldnt think "omg im phikik, i need a leadrope for this horse. Get me a leadrope. Oh no too, let, i know, lemme just throw the reins over his head." I think she didnt have time to think about that, so whoever says "throw the reins over his head," or "Have a leadrope!" What would you of done? Let him run a bit? Or just get dragged along the floor?! Oh no, maybe you would of thought about the leadrope or reins in that second he took off!
aww wow he just took off poor you :O
was funny as he bucked off tho :P
