  • Out of 700 ewes, how many black lambs do you have per season? I really like your stock.. I have 60 cheviot ewes and still waiting on a black one.

  • @cheviot1000 thanks =) You have a keen eye for quality stock :P 10 years ago or so we had about 7 and now sadly only have one. Her mother lasted until last year when she died at the age of 11.

I'd think you'd have to buy/breed the black gene into your flock, otherwise you'll be waiting a long long time...

Are you on the East Coast? A lot of snow over there.

  • The females have such graceful heads yet the tups have broad heads.

What are they like to lamb compared to say Charollais or Texel tups.

Fancy buying a NCC to breed own replacements out of lowland ewes & wondered about using him on hoggs at first????
