IJsbeer Tania zwanger? - Polar Bear Tania pregnant?

Dec. 20090: IJsbeerin Tania heeft zich teruggetrokken in haar kraamkamer voor de winterrust. Nu is het afwachten of ze zwanger is. Eerst heeft ze zich helemaal vol en rond gegeten om de nodige vetreserve op te bouwen. In het kraamhol verblijft zij in alle stilte, ver weg van de bezoekers. Het hol is voorzien van camera's, zodat zij door verzorgers in de gaten kan worden gehouden. Deze beelden zijn met infrarood-camera opgenomen in een aardedonker hol.

Dec. 2009: The upcoming period is an exciting one for Rotterdam zoo: Is polar bear Tania pregnant or not? The signs are certainly positive. Tania and Eric (Rotterdam zoo's male polar bear) mated several times last spring and Tania has withdrawn into her maternity den where she has entered a dormant state. This hibernation-like state does not consist of continuous sleeping; her heart rate slows by almost half but her body temperature does not decrease during this period, as it would for a typical mammal in hibernation. It is totally dark and silent in her den, she isn't disturbed by the visitors or keepers. Cameras and infrared lights have been installed in Tania's dark den so that the keepers can keep an eye on her progress.

@Droppy22 : Hahahaha I have no problem, it's the girl Tania with a problem. It's so silly to be pissed off when you discover that a animal has the same name as you. Then you have a real problem. Very sad, that people are pissed off for so little thing as a name.
