Sorry Gordon, it's a Mac.

This snippet was done using an Apple Mac Pro with the Intel Dual-Core 2.66GHz Xeon "Woodcrest" Processors and 5GB RAM.

The first virtual machine is configured with 192MB RAM and 20GB of disk space (running in windowed mode).

The second virtual machine is configured with 256MB RAM and 105GB of disk space (running in windowed mode)

The third virtual machine is configured with 512MB RAM and 36GB of disk space (running in full screen mode).

The fourth virtual machine is configured with 768MB RAM and 20GB of disk space.

Full screen resolution is set to 1280x1024. It was tough to squeeze this demo down to 63 seconds. I missed saying some of the other stuff that runs on the Mac OS X side, like the distributed.net grid computing cruncher and sometime Mac Office. Plus, I do have a few minutes to play a couple of games on the Mac side (like Mountain Tanks and Turrent Wars).

Thanks for watching ...

  • Wow, that's impressive. Though, I don't know why you'd need so many Virtual Machines, wouldn't one super-configured one be good enough?

  • Thanks. Things got interesting with port conflicts coming through my firewall...SSH/web in particular. So I have my Mac and first Windows virtual machine (running SSH and web testing) configured behind my firewall using the first network card. The second network card on the Mac Pro is configured outside my firewall with a private IP on the Mac interface, but the two virtual machines (production web server and backup server using SSH) are configured with public IPs on the virtual machines.

  • All those installations of Windows are a heckuva waste of a good Mac.

  • Half of my job/work environment is Windows, so I need to stay up to date (hence the Vista/Office 2007 testing) and I also do some video screen captures for training documents I have to help out on.

I just got Ubuntu7 and Xubuntu7 installed the other day, so I can start working with that now too - and see what all the talk is about. It certainly saves on having a room full of computers.

  • Work Flawlessly

  • 5 Starts and that's PURE ownage. Slap in the face to Windows. Might even wanna run Linux on there some time! :D

  • first of all my firend, the world is VERY big and that a master on IT doesn't exist in tour location doesn't mean it doesn't exist where I am. And second I'm sucked in old school as you are, a Unix based system will ALWAYS be better. And OS X might not be the perfect OS but it's far better than Win. Though I prefer linux

  • Good for you. Lol, a master in IT. That's not even a degree. But if you were wondering Im a Network Engineer for a fortune 500 company. what are you trying to say? Someone made a mistake by letting Nishi do there info structure? Anyone in IT lil Nishi knows to stay away from apple unless you're a web designer. What's your excuse for likening such a bad operating system? You got picked on in school didn't you? Now you have to be different lol.

  • you are pathetic, just by the way you speak everybody can tell you know nothing about it. By the way i have a master in IT

  • Your such an idot F-in Mac sl*t. Windows sucks so bad that he has how many remote desktops using Microsoft? oh wait... I guess if Apple crap was so great people would be buying apple. The truth is that you dont know anything about computers... What did you see here that a windows pc cant do? i dont see one thing...

  • OMG!! that's really making fun of windows hahaha Just love Macs

  • uhm...riiight how do we know that this wasnt just a lot of pic's that u showed us..u didnt actually USE so many of them...
