MSU College of Social Science Spring 2011 Commencement Address - Jay Thaker

It is a tradition in the College of Social Science for the Dean's Student Advisory Council to pick a student commencement speaker. The 2011 College of Social Science senior speaker is Jay Paul Thaker. Jay graduated from the Honors College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science, Health Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
Jay has taken advantage of some of the best and proudest attributes of Michigan State University. He has studied abroad in three countries. He has done research with some of the world's foremost scientists in tropical diseases and cardiology, and presented research papers at conferences around the world. Jay plans to study Health Economics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health before he begins medical school. His goal is to find better ways to treat patients in developing countries.
