C. Johnson riding flysurfer 15m Psycho 4 in boarderline danger overpowered conditions.

turned out to be a pretty fun session with the exception of the few times the kite turned into a runaway freight train and yarded me backwards!

rider setup: 195lbs, Spleene Rip 34 board, Flysurfer Psycho 4 15m with center intake closed for additional depower

  • update: I have the kite tuned differently now and I would say the top end is more around 25mph for a 200lb rider. I'm getting much much more lift and float out of the kite now. its an awesome kite but I may be getting a speed 2 very soon as a replacement since I want more float and upwind ability

  • Hey Christian, looks like fun man! Whats your opinion on that center vent, is it a usefull ability to close that thing? It must have some affect- 30mph with a 15m is wild!

  • the center vent seems to make the depower more on/off like an SLE kite. its nice for when the wind is really high. I have the 10m P4 as well and I found the vent closed is necessary when flying that kite in the high gusty winds

  • Hi, I have Psycho 4 10m but I am looking for something to light winds. Can you tell me minimal wind and minimal powered wind to do a landboarding or snowkiting with this size 15m ? I would like to buy Psycho4, Speed2 or Ozone Manta II, all in 15m size. Thanks, aloha

  • I haven't actually landboarded with the 15m yet but I would say 12mph is the minimum I need to get out on the water. depending on your weight and skill level I'd probably want to stay in the 8-15mph range for landboarding.

    Thanks,

    Christian

  • I would say don't bother getting a P4 bigger then a 12m. the 15m is a nice kite for sure but it lacks low end making it only a marginal light wind kite. it is also a difficult kite to go upwind on in lighter conditions since it sits back in the window further then a speed 2. depending on your skill level you might be better suited with a speed 2 for light wind. I'm actually going to be trading my 15m P4 for a 12m Speed 2 shortly. Just remember Speed's are NOT beginner kites

  • very bad session!!!

  • wy did you released the kite

    nice vid

  • hi,

nice vid m8, just wonering: Did u release the kite or dit it release accidental??

Thanks very much gonna by 3 flysurfers soon xD thinking of 19 and 12m speed 3 and maybe a custom speed 3 8m :)

  • I couldn't hold down the 30mph stuff. it simply turned on the afterburner on the kite and lifted me off the water.

the kite is actually pretty affordable. I picked mine up for $1300 R2F as a demo that only had 1 flight. that is actually better then most tube kites on the market.

btw flysurfer infinity bar is the best bar EVER!
