Lalgudi's Ragesree thillana by Lavanya Raghuraman

Lalgudi G Jayaraman's 80th birthday is being celebrated currently (Sep,2010). alapana conveys its regards to the veteran violinist and look forward to his blessings.

Lavanya Raghuraman has trained in violin under Sri Lalgudi GJR Krishnan, before she participated in the National Indian Music Competition in Singapore, conducted by the National Arts Council (NAC), Singapore in 2006 in the 'Open' categoryy for Violin and won the First prize.

Lavanya, a highly talented disciple of the Dhananjayans hails from a family of great musicians led by her illustrious grandfather, Sangita Kalanidhi Dr S.Ramanathan. Lavanya currently (2010) lives in Las Alamos, New Mexico, USA with her husband, Dr J.Balaji.
