  • if they did a biopic of Sam Cooke back then Marvin would have been a good pic. he has that same smooth groove and soulful rhythmic sound and kinda favors Sam.

  • Tinsley2...you are so right. Much swing to this song and Van Dyke and Jamerson's improv worked. This is what made Motown magic with their songs. This song is a hidden gem and not many folks even know it was ever released, me included because my mom bought many Motown releases back in the day. LOVE it, its the jam!

  • @Vincent50 indeed a carbon copy of How Sweet It Is, but with so much more swing. i can imagine Van Dyke and Jamerson making Holland Dozier Holland mad during the these takes cause it's no way the piano and bass parts are sheet music. total improvisation!

  • the Funk Brothers swung so hard on this one!!! Earl Van Dyke is making Count Basie some kinda proud with those light piano tones........and Jamerson is just from another planet! no other way to describe it! thank you very much for posting. God bless

  • Holland Dozier Holland did this song and when I discovered it off of Marvin's Anthology album from 1974 when I bought it, I was surprised to hear this song because its kind of similar to How Sweet It Is. Overall this is a hot song which should've been a hit. The formual is hot and listen to the piano and which I think is Earl Van Dyke and James Jamerson on bass.

  • it's holland dozier holland tho, makes all the difference

  • I have never heard of this song before and just like all of his other songs simply wonderful!!
