I was told by a Muslim friend from Dubai that he is NOT allowed to play the guitar cos it would go against Islam. I thought Muslims from every country is the same...
Yea this Santoor is one of the nicest instrument ever... excellent invention.

I can not believe people that can appreciate something as beautiful as this can get caught up in a childish cursing over religion or ethnicity. Persian are not arabs and arabs are not persians. who cares? Ethnicity does not define you. and Islam is a religion. please listen to yourselves. Be a little more respectful and tolerant of each other. there is space for everyone!

@tromokratio Arabian scale? persian music was a flourishing art and well known aspect of the ancient world long before islam, and the santur is from preislamic period. What he is playing is 100% persian. through conquest arabs learned the music and science of the major empires that ran the show before them. Do you really think sophisticated music existed in desolate barren deserts with minimal cultural interaction? while persia was between paris to delhi, lots of interaction

i have been listening to these ancient music around the world and its fascinating how these instrument from different parts are almost the same.this instrument look like guzheng from east asia. to everybody instead of looking for difference we all shoud find similarities among each other. i think thats wat we need today. after all we all r same we all r human. peace..
