As leaders gather this week in Copenhagen to debate solutions for climate change, farmers and scientists in Peru are working on ways to adapt to changes in the weather that are affecting their potato crops. Scientists say that the crop can be made more sustainable in the face of less water and higher temperatures.

Francine Uenuma is currently the senior news video editor with The Washington Post Digital. Uenuma traveled to Peru on an IRP Gatekeepers trip organized by the International Reporting Project.
