  • @benjaminwirtz actually there was an override on that law, so yes would change the law

  • This commercial was a lie, the Constitution at the time did not allow homosexual marriage so it was no that would change the Constitution.

  • @GoldenbanjoDJ It's a PROPOSITION ballot. Anybody can make one. If one introduced a proposition to bring back all the White people to Europe, round them up and ship them and it won, since White people will no longer be the majority in California, then the state jurisdiction will supersede this decision invoking the 14th Amendment. If you still don't get it then you need to review 3rd grade English.

  • Love this! NOH8

  • @GoldenbanjoDJ

If their intention was to make a law based on public opinion, then the vote should stand. More people didn't want gay marriage than wanted it.

If people are so scared of majority votes and feel the need to 'equalize' it, then why the frick do we even have a vote? Why do we even have democracy. It's things like this that drive voting numbers down in general elections - the people at the top do whatever the hell they want whatever the public say.

    Why make us vote?

  • @msEmmamolina

Well hang on a minute then, why have a vote on it at all if that is the case? Why waste taxpayers money to attempt to forge a law which will be decided by public opinion when all you are going to do in the end is let a couple of people decide anyway? Seems to me like they wanted the result of the vote to FOR gay marriage in order to legitimise pre-concieved agendas before they made it law anyway, but it backfired on them.

  • @GoldenbanjoDJ Yeah you don't get it. Majority does not mean a law will pass. So if the majority wanted no interracial marriage then that's it? The reason why JUDICIARY exists is because of this, to equalize and prevent abuse of the majority. Just because majority says so does not make it right automatically. If the majority wanted women in the kitchen only then that's the law? That's what you are saying basically

  • I love how they're attempting to get the point across. The anti-gay Marriage guy is perceived as fat and ugly, while the pro-gay marriage guy is young and apparently attractive, making him seem "cool", and that you should believe him instead. Fuck that bullshit. If people wanted Prop 8, and they voted to pass it, they should have kept it.
