The HBO documentary - The Battle for Marjah

Chronicling the exploits of Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division during Operation Moshtarak. The main target of the offensive was widely considered to be Marjah, which had been controlled for years by Taliban militants as well as drug traffickers.

Afghan troops were given a lead role, comprising about 60% of those troops. Around 8,000 ground forces and 7,000 support troops were involved including American, British, French, Canadian, and Danish forces under ISAF Command.

This is the story of the Marines who fought and bleed there.

I was with the only army unit there during the initial strike on marjeh, we were there to put a couple of bridges over some of the canals that surrounded and ran through the city. I was just an engineer POG but i remember being attatched to some marines going on some foot patrols to recon build sites. I was pretty nervous no lie, it was something I will never forget.
