Centuries BEFORE the coming of Islam and before the days of the Songhay, Mali and Ghana Empires (and thus before Timbuktu was built), there were some massive cities in the Niger basin region which rivalled those of Mesopotamia.

The research I directed in Timbuktu took 13 months of difficult field research. My results are published in peer-reviewed journals and are accepted by fellow colleagues. My excavation and survey methods followed standard procedures. Walking over the site is necessary for any archaeologist interested in studying the site. Moreover I had permission from the central government to undertake such research. In terms of trade, we get a number of artifacts from North Africa and India.

Greetings Dr Park - great to have you here! ! Could you let us know the details of the publications you mentioned. I would like to have a look at them, but more importantly, put the details in the video description so others can access them. Thanks in advance!

what is a Genetisists? Do you mean Geneticist, like Spencer Wells perhaps? "ohh JEESHUUS".....DNA has nothing to do with archeology? for that matter i think you mean anthropology . "Bantoid"is a language group nothing more and negroid is a phenotype. Africans DNA varies more than any other group if you want to discuss genetic marker E1b1a realize that even Tanzanian "bantus" meaning they are classified as bantus by culture and language have less than 50% . ,

Look at the Olmec stone statues, they are African faces and they pre-date the Maya.Genetics has proved conclusively (and you know it) that all modern humans, without exception originate IN AFRICA.You pretend you're on this thread to learn, but you're not, you're on a mission to de-bunk,and deny.I suspect you feel threatened by all this African assertiveness,
claiming the origin of human heritage, which would mean you too,God forbid,eh? What else could possibly explain a character like you being here?

i think this is bullshit everybody knows arabs visited blacks in africa and traded with all sorts of thing i also bet the same things u find there u will find in europe and north africa. the arabs had been trading slaves for goods for centurys before whites went there, thats why they have so much black blood they brought millions blacks to their whorehouses

well maybe you should begin typing your MSG to Tishkoff, or the other paleogenetasists who use the very same term, Bantuoid is the generic term for the ethnic west african negroid peoples, it is a language "yes" but it's also reconized as a ethnic grouping by genetisists archeologist linguists & historians , so don't get on at me you go see them im sure they'll be swayed by you comprehensive knowledge on genetics history archeology linguistics! your obviously more qualified than all of them?

I usualy stay out of the fray but...
I can't believe you just used(made up) the word "bantuoid" and concocted the phrase "bantuoid type skeleton" ...you do know bantu is a language group and therefore you can't have a "bantuoid type skeleton" right?
.
You are aware that "type skeleton" is a matter of phenotype(how you look) and not language grouping(how you speak) right?
.
Sorry it irks me how often people misuse and/or confuse the terms Bantu, negriod, African, africoid, etc
