A few ideas on how to slap a little more precise. A couple of excercises, too.

  • Are you muting the other strings with your fretting hand? Do you recommend doing this? IMO it's alot easier, but at the other hand, it affects slaping precission.

  • @Merefnebef I am, yes. I would recommend it, but it takes time to get it right :)

  • Hey man I have a question, can I slap and pop with any kind of bass, not just with a slap bass?

  • @lapijaable Yes, you can slap and pop any Bass, although I wouldn't recommend slapping and poplin on an acoustic bass, as the sound is normally quite bad!

  • THANK YOU! i've always had trouble with my precision! this video helped a lot! thanks!

  • @nainaigogo No problem. Go through my videos for slap precision exercises :)

  • I don't know why, Dman, but if I just can't seem to get whatever it is I'm trying to achieve all I have to do is watch one of your videos and it makes me feel alot better, and I get back on the wagon and try again. Thanks for doing this for those of us who absolutely must pinch the pennys.

You truly are an inspiration to bass players every where.

  • Great vid. Just the problem I've been having with my slap and pop. 5 stars

  • im a dj (as well as a bass player) and work with quite a few different bands at the various venus i do. one guy i was watching was an amazing bass player and he uses a hair bobble slid over the head stock of the bass, when he goes into fast slap solos he slides the bobble over the first fret and it deadens the open strings so if he accidently catches the wrong string it dosnt sound out. hope this tip helps :)

  • this worked perfectly on my cock. i shot a load more massive than a les claypool lick. Now its time to try a trombone in my ass ! :D

    good video tho :D

  • Meu Deus...9 minutos e o cara não para de falar....e não faz nada no baixo!!!!
