This video was taken about 2 Kilometer off shore of Parsons Pond on the Northern Penninsula of Newfoundland. The video was originally shot with an old VHS camera so the quality is a littly off but I hope you enjoy. This area would be in the North Atlantic. The whales I believe are humpbacks and there was maybe about 30 of them there in total. It is common to sight whales, short nose porpoise, and aquatic birds of many sorts. Fishermen sometimes accidently catch these animals and others such as Porbeagle Sharks, Atlantic Salmon, and even Sunfish. Obsurd and outdated laws require that bycatch be dumped over even when we have hungry people here in our province. Salmon and whatnot could feed numberious family's but it's out of the fishermans control. I'm sure he/she would rather eat the seafood themselves rather than dump it over to rot, but our system is a bit anal like that.
