Feeling totally debilitated as of late. Enduring the highs and lows of chronic illness. Very sad and frustrated.

See info. below:

CFS is a multi-system disease which causes extreme fatigue, muscle weakness, cognitive dysfunction, hypersensitivity, orthostatic intolerance, digestive disturbances, depression, poor immune response, and cardiac and respiratory problems. According to the CDC, studies show that disability in CFIDS patients is comparable to multiple sclerosis, AIDS, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, heart disease, end-stage renal disease, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Yet, studies have shown that patients diagnosed with "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome" are not taken as seriously as patients with the same symptoms but a different name for their diagnosis. Thus, the name CFS not only affects the quality of treatment patients receive, but the amount of money committed to research! PWCs deserve to be taken seriously, to have a name for their illness that preserves their dignity, and to receive appropriate medical care! Spread the message -- CFS: Change the Name!

  • Fatigue is horrible, it is extremely depressing sometimes. I've had embarrassing situations where I've had difficulty functioning. :(

It's hard to stay positive when your body is holding you back. I wish I had something more encouraging to tell u. :)

  • @InvisibleInjury Thanks for your kind words. Sorry you're experiencing the same. Let's stay connected here on YT.

  • "I have to go lay down somewhere" I can relate to that with my chronic illness.

  • Yeah, I know that chronic illness sux. You should see my latest video.

  • keep strong. God Bless.

  • The fatigue is paralyzing... some don't know the devistation of this symptom... some are experiencing it, and don't know it is a symptom they are experiencing. Hope today is a good one for you... for us all... Keep going girl... we're hangin' together with this.. thanks for the post ~*~

  • thanks for stopping in and saying hi. i'm at the same place. see the doc monday in DC, long drive and i've got a terrible stomach flu. sometimes it's hard as hell to stay positive but i hope that when it starts getting warmer some part of this will be easier, atleast the mental part.

  • I'm sorry that happened to you. I too have been there, done that. I hate that feeling like you stand up and then you have to sit down because you start getting really weak and feel like you're going to lose consciousness.

I also have POTS, CFS, Lyme, co-infections, and who knows what else... probably more. :-\

    Hope you feel better soon.

  • Been through that many times. And you feel like if you don't lay down, you are going to pass out or be on the floor.

This is why I can't make plans, can't go anywhere. It just ruins your entire life. And I freak out if I know I have to be somewhere with a line you have to wait on cause I know it's going to trigger it. Standing for more than a very short period of time is just out. Can't do it.
