This is part three of three (and last) video tutorial showing how I service my Oil burning AGA Deluxe.

I have been servicing my own AGA's since 1984 without much difficulty. It's a simple job, which needs doing about every 6 months, requiring few tools and takes about 1 hour to complete.
Always allow an overnight period for the AGA to cool sufficiently before attempting to work on it. Leave the hot plate lids up and the oven doors and burner door open to speed up the cooling time.
When re-lighting it make sure you are able to be present until it's up to working temperature again in case of any problems. Avoid lighting it and going to bed, just to be on the safe side.
Most AGA's have burners like mine but there may be some differences depending on the age of the conversion.

  • Most helpful of all, saving me £85.00 every 6 month and now I am going to do it once every 3 month in order to get the best out of my much love AGA

  • Thanks for ignoring the OFTEC complaints from those who seem to fear their living. Nice clear tutorial. Got my Aga up and running nicely, and next time will replace the wicks too.

  • Chagford :Sounds to me like he's up and running as an unqualified OFTEC person. Wonder if the inspector has any thoughts on this.
