Amtrak Feather River Express

Here is the first shot I got of an Amtrak special called the Feather River Express. The Feather River Express was put together to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Western Pacific Railroad. This train traveled from Oakland to Portola and back taking the old WP lines that are now owned by Union Pacific. This train was composed of 3 old California Zephyr cars that have now been refurbished. They are the the Silver Lariat, Silver Rapids and the Sliver Solarium. Amtrak 184 was pulling it.

Here is a shot of it in north Sacramento at Elkhorn Blvd. The detector went off before it went but I thought I would put it at the end. Hope you enjoy! RATE AND COMMENT ALL VIDEOS!!!!

BTW: As the train was approaching the crossing I thought I heard a car slam on its breaks.

Ya the people had a fender bender. They pulled in front of me and slowed me down as I raced it down to DT Sac.

Awesome video! Was this run open to the public. If it was I assume you had to get tickets waaaay in advance because it was very short.

It was done through Train Unlimited. Only about $2,000 a ticket.

Gosh. 184 got bad and that flat spot on its lead truck ain't that great either.

Nice vid, I have seen 184 a few times on the Crescent, it was always 183 and 184 together lol never saw 184 in the lead.
