  • how do you keep the blade on the tires?

  • You can't, I angle the center of the tires out forward so that the blade wants to move backwards all the time, the rearward motion of the blade is kept in check by the guides, the roller bearing guides and a couple of brass guides on top.

That's exactly what I've been trying to find out. I never knew how the blade would stay on.

  • Type "Garage Built Sawmill" as a video search and see how cheaply you can make a bandsawmill -$1100

  • The tires probably have a natural crown on them. (higher spot in the center). The blade will tend to ride up toward the top fo the crown and self center itself. This is no different than the crown on the "wheels" of a belt sander.

  • Erniz2 I think you want around 4500 ; check out the link I put above for band speeds

  • The pully size / motor rpm / wheel size listed above work really well for me as to actual rpm I never figured it out, i'm more of a "throw it together and see what happens" kind of guy.
