  • @jalski1downshroom The biggest issue for me is the toms. Not sure what model mine is as it's over 15 years old but not even swapping out the heads improved the sound. Open they sound like garbage and padding makes them sound like buckets.

And there's the cymbal issue mentioned. Replace them. Keep the originals, though, because you can bend one, mount it on a stand, and get an interesting sound out of it.

Bottom line, good for practice, lousy for any real applications.

  • Cymbals sound like crap no matter what you do, and the hi hat for me kept bending inwards on me like an umbrella. But other than that, I liked it. Definately replace the cymbals when you get a chance though...

  • @nrkization me too just different color

  • @somekidwithanm4 Hahaha, oddly enough I did start out with forums way back when, moved on though. And I'm not saying that they're terrible for a beginner set, but the guy is trying to come off as if these things could compete with the highest end stuff from other big name companies.

  • @CoheedMars90 correction. these can sound amazing. these are extremely high quality for a beginner kit. mines been through hell and back, through rain and grass and all other crazy things, but with good heads they are great. you try and get your pearl forum to sound this good, then we'll talk. and i like pearl wierdly enough that coming out of my mouth

  • @nrkization love these kits because its above average beginner kit quality for just a little more price and some of the finished look amazing

  • @smittysturn they are good drums for the price.

  • @CoheedMars90 If they have good heads and you get the larger size. Everything except the snare is actually fine. But the Snare needs to be replaced to make the larger kit sound better.

  • @smittysturn It's too large for kids of that age. The drum sizes are about standard for a professional kit, it's the quality of the kit that makes this drum set inadequate for adults, who should have access to something a little less awful.

  • Your drums are garbage. They're fine for beginners, and they're fine for the price, but you know they're garbage, don't try and suggest that they're "excellent quality" because they aren't.
