Prince gleaned a ton from the best. James Brown's dance, Jimi's guitar playing and flashy moves..I miss the Sex/God in a tug of war era Prince.

went to see prince's old band from the purple rain era. they had a special reunion.25 years after band disbanded. They played songs from his first 5 albums. with no guarantee that he would show up the place was packed and people loved it even though he never showed. when you can pack a place with no promise you will show and have your old band perform music that was mostly all written,produced,and performed by you. and that being less than a third of your catalog...then you are a bad mofo!!

Damn I knew Prince could play but that was fucking awesome! I'm not a fan of his but I have to give it up for him, that was brilliant! I'm not sure, but, I think I could hear doves crying during his solo!

@AlphaDean totally agree, he's a real musican and songwriter. Never knew why MJ was called "King of Pop" while Price wrote, produced and performed his music on his own, without any playback for the fancy dances....
