Read my monthly blog on the Pangea Seed webiste here: http://pangeaseed.com/2011/01/the-coconut-news-palau-from-the-worlds-first-of...

Recently I was lucky enough to meet a wonderful couple who run a non profit organisation based in Tokyo, Japan dedicated to educating and raising international awareness on the plight of sharks and the destruction of their habitat. Pangea Seed is the first organisation in Japan to raise public awareness regarding shark conservation and preservation. The importance for an organisation like this in a country whose culture is so familiar with shark fin soup is vital for any chance of shark conservation in this part of the world. What makes Pangea Seed so unique is their emphasis on raising awareness and educating people through various different mediums of art such as music, paintings, film and photography. I have always believed that the potency of art is more powerful than speeches or words. Pangea Seed receive a great deal of support from artists around the world and through their mission statement, wonderful works of thought provoking art have been created.

As I currently live and work in the only official shark sanctuary on the planet I am in a unique position to report on any current situations or changes which may take place within Palau's marine environment. Pangea Seed asked me to write a monthly blog for their website and post a short film to accompany each blog entry. It is a great privilege to be able to work with Pangea Seed and to help raise awareness on the marine environment here in Palau. Currently the worlds only official shark sanctuary it is important to monitor the effects this status has on Palau's eco system.

The accompanying video will be posted on the Pangea Seed Website and here each month for you to watch and enjoy.

Pangea Seed is a non profit organisation and it survives through the generosity of its supporters. Help support this important cause. Help save the sharks. Help save the environment, help save ourselves.
