Bloomington Fading: Abandoned Home In the Middle of Nowhere. We went hiking through the woods of northern Monroe County and stumbled upon a former home, probably last occupied in the late 70s, with no paved road for miles. The closest road we can tell is Old Highway 37. The home was built of limestone.

  • The roof appears intact. That makes me think it's been occupied a lot more recently than the 1970s. More like the 1990s.

  • @algodmen

There may be other reasons that the roof is still intact... But actually the back basement door roof was caved in.... You can't see it from these movies.

  • Me again. Could you please tip me on the location or general area?

    Thank!

  • ever watched wrong turn..BRAINSSSS YUMMMM!!!!

  • This is gorgeous, an amazing find. How lucky you are. As far the lack of roads go there are some places like that in my area as well. Houses in the middle of nowhere, no visible roads in. How did people get back there. The only explanation I can come up with is, if the roads were only dirt or gravel, 30 plus years of neglect would allow nature to take over them rather easily till they became unrecognizable.

  • that is one cool house and that truck is mega cool and needs saving before it rots away to a heap of dust !!

  • i would drag both of those trucks out in pieces. cut and weld! and the bus is from 48-52 as 53 ford trucks changed considerably. and the 47 trucks carried over the 41 looks if they were even built at all in 47.

  • like to have that truck.

  • Good ol' Indiana rednecks!
