Degradation of women in Islam

I don't believe that Islam is a religion that puts women below men as some claim it to be, and I resent my reasoning in this video.

@TXHalabi Another thing- if most of the scholars of Islam believe that Islam isn't sexist, how do you believe that you can deny that? Do you believe that you have more knowledge of Islam than those who have studied it their entire lives? That would be like me, someone going into school for Mathematics and Physics in two years, to say "NOPE. Richard Feynman, Carl Sagan, Einstein, and Newton had it ALL WRONG. I know better than them"

@TXHalabi No, good sir, wife beating is sanctioned in *your interpretation* of the Qur'an. What was said 1500 years ago does not necessarily apply to today. As well, *your interpretation* of Islam teaches that women are less than men. If women truly taught misogyny, then all Muslims would be sexist, would they not? Since not all Muslims are (indeed, most are not), I would argue that anyone who believe Islam is anti-women is either unable to read or listen to the Qur'an.

Islam teaches that women are worth half of a man, they should inherit half, their testimony is worth half, they are deficient in intelligence, men can beat their wives, and this guy makes excuses for misogyny.
