Lago d'Idro, Ponte Caffaro, was not nearly as great a spot as f.i. Damaso at Lago di Como or Torbole at Lago di Garda. The wind only occasionally was strong enough to get below eqmnt planing. People who had visited Ponte Caffaro in more years confirmed that. During filming, the wind was o.k but i messed up by sailing the board with the mast positioned a few cm too far back in the rail. That is why it planes late and the board is not flat on the water.
Lago di Como was a lot better; sailed there with SX's of 75 and 69 cm; mostly with a 7,8 fully powered, sometimes even the 5,8 proved to be sufficient to get planing icw the 69cm-SX.
