Fairtax main problem is that it's a farce. I mean literally a farce.
Read the book -- Fairtax page 148 gives a glimpse of the monumental BS. The main source of revenue - -is a tax on the GOVERNMENT.
That's right -- cities, states, and the fed government (Pentagon, Medicare, ect) will have to pay 30% of their spending as a tax.
It's beyond insane. It's a farce -- no one is really trying to pass this nonsense. It's a hoax.
