This is a clip of John Hagen from "The Texas Tenors" singing Nessun Dorma. The Texas Tenors sing a lot of country but here is proof of John's love for Opera. Although this track is what we had at the time he sings this aria in the normal key with ease. Check our more musical styles his group does and pick up a cd at "thetexastenors.com"

  • Very exciting spinto. With a Bb like that, the half step down is no crime.

  • @raythespian ..That is true....that is just the key of the track that we happened to have....John could sing this up a whole step with a high C at the top if needed....He does it amazing in the original key too........thanks for the comments!

  • Yeah I would agree. You got that right. David is different game, but they are both good. Although I favor David....shh... :) seriously though I can respect that.

  • Yes indeed... David has always been my favorite singer on the planet.... I have seen him live 3 times and he is fantastic... but you should hear John singing Opera live....equally amazing! Thanks for the comments..i like your youtube handle.

  • David phelps is better vocally, but this guy has great annunciation, and the opera sound so to speak....oh and mulletude too..lol

  • David Phelps is one of my favorite singers of all time...but he simply can't sing Pucinni with the power that John does... totally different voices. I love David on "No More Night" and "O Holy Night" etc.. he is awesome!

  • very cool, never saw that coming

  • John Hagen does a great job singing Nessun Dorma. Love his voice.

  • John was one of my vocal teachers. I cannot say enough about what a talented singer, teacher, person, and artist he is. Thank you John for being a great inspiration not only to me but so many others.

  • WoWWW!!! First time actually seeing him do this one solo... Awesome. That is all.

  • Why are there comparisons between John Hagen and David Phelps? They are two completely different types of tenors singing two completely different types of music. Even David in his recording of "He's Alive" shows himself to be more of a high lyric tenor. John sounds like a spinto or dramatic tenor to me. Comparisons always erk me. This dude deserves mad props for singing this piece as well as he does, even if it is a half step low. Bravo John Hagen!

  • epic.

  • Awesome that you love David too :) I mean he's the greatest singer ever to me, but that's me. My brother thinks Josh Groban is better, my brother is a psycho moron!!!

  • Lol bedtime???? I meant best stupid iPad with predictive typing!!!!
