Rubber....do you happen to know the real true about that in this particular song,and i might say for the rest of this album,that between John,Paul and George alternated instruments and in this particular track,its Paul that plays the main solo of guitar and John plays the bass???

Paul does play the lead guitar solo on this, but he also played bass on this one. George played bass on very early versions of Paperback Writer when they were working on it during the Revolver sessions, Paul later recorded the bass on that one as well. George is not on bass on this one.

Some people say that it's actually George playing bass on this track. Paul is playing lead guitar. Paul definitely plays the guitar solo.
