You dont understand how drugs work on the CNS. You obviosly dont know how benzodiazepines work.Benzodiazepines are negative allosteric modulators on the GABA (A) receptor , understand ? They bind to the alpha1,alpha2,alpha3 and alpha5 subunits of the GABA (A) receptor wich is linked to a chloride ion channel. After binding they promote binding of GABA and increase the FREQUENCY of the channel opening allowing influx of chloride ions wich in turn hyperpolarize the membranes of nearby neurons.
