Greek Fires: European solidarity

Europe has rushed to help Greece in its fight against fires devastating its southern regions.
The EU has a Community mechanism in place to facilitate reinforced cooperation in civil protection assistance. Monitoring and Information Centre (MIC) coordinated the offers of many member states and in total 18 fire-fighting planes, 18 specialised helicopters and nearly 100 fire-fighters had been sent to Greece.

Good idea but first of all Turkey MUST stop ask islands from Greece! You cant be friend with someone who asks to capture your lands!

I read some comments here and I totally disagree with some of them. I'm Spanish and European and I cared about Greece. I care about every single European country.

Devastating fires in the south, floods in the centre and north... Hopefully, the EU was created long time ago and now we're in time to fight against the climate change.

You guys arguing over help should all shut up. Here in Australia when a fire breaks out we dont send 100 fire fighters to it.. more like 2000. and they all do it with a smile to help other humans where ever they are from. considering the population of europe i dont think sending 100 fire fighters is really all that generous... but then again you may not have many to spare. greece needs help so just do it and stop crapping on about it

i was there on holiday when that happened we were on an island called kia and we saw loads of helicopars (can't spell) from others countrys luckely we were ok when we came back to the mainland but then we got worried because the main road to the airport was closed but it opened again the day before we left

My friend fly's to Greece every three weeks to fight fire. He is a helicopter pilot from Kamloops, BC! Blessings... ENTICIA
