i once was in the final stages of getting a gastric bypass...and a sideways full body shot- sorry, couldn't figure out how to get it turned the correct way...
I just subscribed and will happily be a part of your support group! It would be great if you would do the same for me. Where in Massachusetts do you live? I lived and worked in Boston for 30 yrs!
Full body shots are sure hard to do! I look at it as putting myself out there making a commitment to losing weight....if I share my weight or what I look like it's in print and I have to do something about it. All things happen for a reason so if you want the surgery it will happen whenever its the right time for you. It is so good to hear you are so healthy. Take care! Kellie
I have a tough time with the full body shots too, but it is so helpful to have them. As for the surgery, it seems like such a difficult decision. I know that had I had access to it when I was 350 lbs. I would have jumped at the chance. Now that I've lost 128 lbs. on my own, I'm glad that I didn't have access to the surgery. I get what your saying about the tests/wishing there was a medical explanation for all of this. Being healthy now will help you do this. It is definitely doable. :0)
Hi! I believe gastric bypass surgery should only be done in morbidly obese situations. I don't think you're that heavy at all. I congratulatey you on wanting to take the weight off the healthy way! Keep up the good work. :-)
My take on gastric bypass and WLS in general is that I think it's really only necessary when the individual has problems related to weight and has seriously stuck to diet for a certain amount of time yet a number of issues prevent them from taking off the weight. When I see people on TV getting the surgery after attempting to lose weight only once, or when they don't really understand that diet and exercise will play a very crucial role after their surgery, that annoys me. But, well, that's me.
I think doing the body shots are really very important. For my own private record, I took a picture of myself naked when I had lost about 12 pounds already, and even though I have only lost 40 pounds in total, I notice big changes already. Yeah, it's disgusting to look at for me, but it's also necessary to view the truth. That way, when you succeed, you will be able to tell how far you have come.
you have very pretty eyes. you'll look lovely when you've accomplished your goal....
