This guy finally understands what a Kinect can do. It's not a fucking eyetoy.

This is pretty cool. I'd love if actually were on drugs for this episode or future review of any game.

I say fair enough in not calling it a game, if I were to explain it to someone I'd call it a "toy", in the same way playing with a ball using a robot via controller and a screen is still playing with a ball, not a video game.
But then, I'd call some of these more "videogamey" than others... crap, this is kind of a grey area.

@JNGonzalez09 "Whoa, I'm in a K-hole." It's a thing that happens when you take a lot of ketamine. Google it. Also, don't do drugs.

I'm sorry, but saying that this isn't a game is bullshit. Just because it doesn't have a fail state? How about we just not have such a narrow definition of what a "game" can be? Let's drop the unnecessary assumptions of how games work. It would be better for games because developers could have a greater variety of options for gameplay, and people like this don't have to sound like pretentious gits by saying "this is an interactive digital experience".

@aamesxdavid Well, there's also no "win" state, no score, no competitive element, etc. etc. so I see where they're coming from on that. I think they just don't want people going in with expectations that Happy Action Theater isn't going to fulfill.

@newchallenger No, I get that, but I think that straying from the term "game" only reinforces those unnecessary expectations, and hurts the cause of games becoming more diverse. Minecraft lacks all of the "game" aspects you mentioned (except maybe death?), and it's pretty widely accepted as a game. Sure, at some point we'll really blur the lines for what a "game" is, but to make it a black-and-white issue by saying "this isn't a game" isn't doing the perception of games any favours.

@aamesxdavid I totally get that; I also understand where they're coming from in terms of marketing… YOU GUYS ARE TEARING ME APART.
