This is the recording of the live video chat hangout I did during the May 20, 2012 solar eclipse. We had a live video feed from a telescope, and several astronomers on hand to discuss it. Due to a few issues, it doesn't really start until 17:23 in, so start there!

3 Hours? Oh - My!!

I saw a total eclipse in Augsburg,Germany in 1999, and it was awesome. I drove up there with my motorcycle from Switzerland, because Augsburg was right on the path and it was worth it. The time for the eclipse was around noon so the effect was really impressive. When it became dark, all traffic stopped, and in an astounding silence, people gazed trough their glasses, and when the light finally replaced the darkness, everybody went crazy and started clapping hands and screaming! Don't miss it!
