Herbivore vs. Carnivore - You be the judge !

The documentary Meat the Truth is the first major project undertaken by the Nicolaas G. Pierson Foundation. Meat the Truth is a high-profile documentary, presented by Marianne Thieme (leader of the Party for the Animals), which forms an addendum to earlier films that have been made about climate change. Although such films have convincingly succeeded in drawing public attention to the issue of global warming, they have repeatedly ignored one of the most important causes of climate change, namely: intensive livestock production. Meat the Truth has drawn attention to this by demonstrating that livestock farming generates more greenhouse gas emissions worldwide than all cars, lorries, trains, boats and planes added together.
The Nicolaas G. Pierson Foundation chose to compile the best scientific information on climate change and livestock farming, which is presently available and to translate this for a broader audience. The film was produced by Claudine Everaert and Gertjan Zwanikken. The calculations on greenhouse gas emissions used in the film derive from and have been validated by the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the UN (FAO), the World Watch Institute, the Institute for Environmental Studies of the Free University Amsterdam and numerous other authoritative sources.
Well-known Dutch celebrities, such as Anthonie Kamerling, Georgina Verbaan, Henk Schiffmacher, Yvonne Kroonenberg, Karen van Holst Pellekaan, Wim.T.Schippers and Dolf Jansen, participated in the making of the Dutch version of this documentary, which has already been deemed better than Al Gores An Inconvenient Truth by the science editors of the quality Dutch daily newspaper, the NRC Handelsblad.
In the meantime, the Nicolaas G. Pierson Foundation has also produced an international version of Meat the Truth. This English language film is better tailored to an international public and uses calculations on the carbon savings that may be achieved by reducing ones meat consumption based on American, rather than Dutch, examples.
Many well-known celebrities, such as Pamela Anderson, Bill Maher, James Cromwell, Emily Deschanel, Tony Denison, Esai Morales, Megan Blake, Debra Wilson Skelton, Elaine Hendrix, Kate Flannery, Carol Leifer, Joy Lauren, Hal Sparks, Constance Marie, Kristina Klebe, Skyler Gisondo, Graham Patrick Martin, Greg Vaughan and Touriya Haoud Vaughan, participated in the making of the international version of the film.
With this documentary, the Nicolaas G. Pierson Foundation hopes to make a contribution to the societal discussion about a more plant-based and thus also more animal-friendly diet and society. Moreover, the Foundation also anticipates that the film will provide a showcase for prominent scientific reports about livestock farming and climate change, which unfortunately have thus far proved inaccessible to the general public.
The world premiere of Meat the Truth was held on 10th December 2007 in the Tuschinski cinema in Amsterdam. The international version of the film premiered at London's Odeon West End Cinema in Leicester Square on 19th May 2008 and has since also had its premiere screening in the USA at the Egyptian Theatre, Hollywood, LA during the Artivist Film Festival on 3rd October 2008.

  • global warming bull shit, if you believe it your just like all the rest

  • @DennisDK Global warming/climate change is a hoax, I definitely agree. It's another way our corrupt leaders are trying to squeeze every last cent from the hard working slaves. In my opinion, there is pollution that effects our environment, and as usual, something such as animal agriculture which is a huge pollutant (air, water, land) is not even talked about. They focus on vehicle emissions while avoiding the fact that livestock are a major concern. See FAO link above.

  • How can meat be a toxin, if predators in nature survive by eating just that? :(

  • @jakob2803 On my main page under channel description (right side of page), I have a link that explains this. It's titled -- "Herbivore VS. Carnivore - You be the judge !"

  • @DianeDi just one question, what's the point of having incisors and other sharp teeth in our mouths... i was just guessing that point if these teeth were for the ability to chew on meat... so i did...

  • @fholiday

    Remember you asked !!!

Food That Kills - this is part 4 --

However, a real cute, comical and informative cartoon is listed in the above video description thanks to Bizzaro !

See the link called ***Herbivore vs. Carnivore - You be the judge !****

  • @fholiday You can't compare human teeth and jaw to meat eating animals teeth or jaw. A brief summary here ----- /watch?v=Yb1Cdlf9rrY

  • Cows are FARTING and BELCHING the PLANET into oblivion! Pigs and Chicken shit are converting our water ways into sewers.

  • @Rasputinawesome Open minded - ha, that's funny. If only you actually took the time to read the links attached. FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) in particular. 90 Billion animals worldwide, each year - most standing knee deep in their own excrement. Gee, I suppose that would have no effect whatsoever.

  • @DrFuckingPepper The government clearly does not promote a plant based diet. They are corporate controlled w/ corporate interests. They want us to think we need animal products and then make money off of us when we're sick vs having a vegan diet that can prevent, reduce, and eliminate disease and cancer. The Got Milk? ad campaign is indeed hilarious. All that spending to make you think you need something.

  • @fholiday call us omniovores. but only for survival and in dire circumstances. More advanced societies through science and studies needs to move from a carnivorous diet. Your canines? For hard fruit and nuts. Your flat molars? For grinding. The enzyme amylase? Not found in carnivores. Just. Point being, a plant based diet shows no diseases or cancer vs a meat which has direct links to it.

  • PLEASE, STOP THE BRUTAL ANIMAL CRUELTY!

    "DON'T BE MONSTERS"

  • replace all coal plants with new nuclear reactors and have hydrogen running our vehicles. Make meal worms a major food item to replace beef.

    FIXED

  • @witchcraftlord - Protein is built by animals through eating and synthesis through what they eat.Cows for instance eat mostly grasses and vegetation that is synthesised internally to assist them growing. Eating directly from an animal is still the best way to get protein and other amino acids not present anywhere else.

  • Bullshit.

Blame the fucking cows why don't you, Global-Populationists.

People fart and shit out more green-house gasses than livestock.

This is all propaganda to make us all pay more taxes.

Believe these bullshit lie documentaries, but the truth is clear: OUR GOVERNMENTS WANT TO MAKE US FEEL GUILTY ABOUT THE WAY WE HAVE LIVED FOR A LONG TIME.

Don't believe anything you see, read or hear about the crisis we face.

The world is dying and HUMANS are to blame, not fucking cows!

    WAKE UP.

  • @TheKenTerry Its the times we are in, people have been brainwashing us to eat meat/ drink milk so they can make money, it is causing major problems to our health/ our earth, trust me, i used to eat meat, and now i dont i feel sooo good, i am clean, and healthy, and i dont eat any animal parts, It is good that you want to learn and ask questions, there is nothing in meat that we cant find else where, the things in meat are only there because the animal ate plants!

  • @witchcraftlord

There we go, sometimes I like to put and ignorant comment so I get as much info as possible haha. That's how I learn things sometimes, just to see who responds. I'm new on this whole meat being bad thing, the only thing i've heard is there are nutrients our body needs that is only found in some meat. At least that's what my biology teacher said on a rant about vegetarians.

  • @TheKenTerry Thats bullshit, you dont know what the fuck you are talking about! Meat did not help es evolve, we didnt even evolve from anything... we started out as people and we die as people, eating meat didnt change anything, meat is not needed in human diet, thats what beans and vegies are for, the only things in meat are from the plants the animal ate, meat is full of sodium and saturated and trans fatts
