The so called conservation groups like the cca have made stopping the commercial fishing into a big money making business with the donations from the public that does not know what is really going on and from government grants for their bad data on the fish. Is there any commercial value for bluefish? It would be easy to catch 5000 lbs a night in alabama. They are highly overpopulated. I have a hook & line commmercial license and would love to sell bluefish.

pretty sure there is a limit...even for whitebait, there is a limited number of aggregates one can get. in florida, limit is 10 per person, 6 w/o commercial. could be wrong. btw in regards to your comment on regulations, it is a necessary method to keep a balance in order to maintain the catch, altough fishermen are not the only issue. pollution is another big issue. it leads to algae blooms and so forth. cca and other commissions should address all issues. impressive catch
