The Droste effect is a recursive image or to put it another way it's an image within the same image.
Creating it in Photoshop is surprisingly simple if you have Photoshop CS4 or CS5 and the Pixel Bender Plugin.

How can I install PixelBender without Adobe Extension Manager, I am using portable version of photoshop cs5 it's not working with Adobe Extension Manager??????

I have Adobe photoshop CS5.1 (32bit) and i use windows7. Why i can't use droste filter...

@mrcaptainclaw Search for Adobe Extesion Manager in Start, Right Click on it, then select "Run as administrator".

Can't get the download for CS4.
It says must have version 11 of Photoshop (which is CS4 !) on system (which I do !) for the install to work (which it doesn't !).
Also, don't remember the exact file extension but it's something like .mxp.
Do we download that file or do we try to open (though when I try to open it, it takes me to the install downloader and that's where the error message happens).
What do you reckon Gavin ??!!

@Jez2008UK You'll need to install it via Adobe Extension Manager (run in admin mode if on a windows PC) I linked to my 3 minute install guide at the start of this video. W. Sussex... small world :-)

@ScaryHands Yes there is. The Drose filter & pixel bender plugin are available for After Effects. A Google search should sort you out :-)
