McCain wasn't dead set on Taking our guns, but he wasn't Consistant the way he says.
More crime is prevented every day by private citizens owning guns than by law enforcment in a month. Why? Because the cops show up AFTER the crime takes place.
Compare crime in Switserlan (where guns are ISSUED to every house by the gov) and Australia (where guns were taken away from the citizenry) if you want to know the truth.
And remember too, the 2nd ammendment wasn't about street crime, but Tyrany.

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

I agree with you completely. I voted for John McCain as well. I hope Obama does a good job with the economy, environment, Iraq war, naional security, etc., but I'll fight any attempt by him to discredit, destroy, or repeal the Second Amendment. It's the right that allows us to protect our rights from tyranny. You're absolutely right. Obama defiantely fails where protecting our gun rights are involved. I quote George Mason: To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.

Between 20 & 30 million illegal Mexicans ignore our immigration (& other) laws & now fill our prisons to overflowing at great expense to the taxpayers! They know we can't arrest and/or deport them all & are now faced with being REWARDED WITH AMNESTY/CITIZENSHIP FOR BREAKING/IGNORING OUR LAWS & for registering & voting democrat with ACORNS HELP & the democrat's approval! IF they try to ban & seize our firearms & repeal the Second Amendment THEY ARE THE ENEMY! IGNORE & RESIST THEIR UNLAWFUL ACTS!

Maybe somewhere like Chicago, Los Angeles, Phoenix, or small town anywhere. An armed society is a polite society.
