Art Blog: Japanese Dragon (Part 1)

Started this on 10th May 2009. Haven't finished yet. Plan to complete it this week. My inspiration was a picture of a Japanese dragon, I love the amount of detail that will be required, it's a real process for me to really test my skills as an artist, haven't done anything this detailed before. I only completed a section of the face tonight, it took three hours.
Keep watching for more later, plan to do some more tomorrow.

wow amazing picture jsut my style did u need to trace this and then go over or did u draw the pencil one by hand also plz could u tell em the make of your pen -good job and good luck xo

Its a Uniball eye- fine, waterproof pen on a painting canvas. I did a very rough pencil outline, mostly just to get the general shape of the dragon first, then penned the detail as I saw it. I did it in front of the computer looking at the picture, for general shapes and shading guidelines. Thanks, hope it turns out well :)

I haven't really taking the time to do art much in the past, just whenever I felt like it and had the time. I got the inspiration bug last night! Maybe I'll consider selling it when I'm done, we will see :)
