Hearts and Minds Documentary: Prostitution Depiction

In the mid 20th century, the United States administration promoted propaganda to develop support for the activities in Vietnam. This clip and accompanying research analyzes the behavior of military personnel in Vietnam versus the dominant agenda set by the government that the military acts in the best moral judgment at all times. Critics have claimed Davis' documentary to be anti-American for certain depictions in the documentary; do you believe these depictions fairly sample the military and does shining light on it make an individual anti-American?

I'm one of the students that analyzed this documentary and my point was not to be anti-US/military but more in how it was depicted by mainstream media in contrast to its depiction by the administration of then. I meant to question the short and long-term effects of the depictions and ethical actions by a military and its government in the presence of a transparent war. This does not only apply to the US but also to any government and its military.

As for those of you who are simply calling them whores, it dehumanizes them. Facing economic hardships, living in the countryside, making less than a dollar a day, the choices are limited. Thus to put food in their mouths, clothes on their childrens' back, that's the route taken.

What angers me even more is how loser white Americans, Europeans, Australians come to my motherland and simply think having sex with prostitutes is what makes Viet Nam beautiful.

The USA are a fascist military empire which massacres and exploits the poor and helpless of this world in order to expand to cover the planet with their bases (the US equivalent of imperialism).

The population is brainwashed into radical nationalists who worship the military as a godlike entity and oppose any questioners.

They install and back dictators until the time is right to "harvest" the land, then they bomb, invade and occupy it.
