When Putin came to power, he nationalized much of the Oil industry. He revived Russia from devastating effect of IMF shock therapy. He kickstarted the economy which is now growing at good pace.

Putin rescued Russia from IMF and western vulture financiers. That is quite an accomplishment. At least Russia has a self interest.

Look at Qatar (Gutter actually), it jumps and roll like a dog to promote western interests. Al Jazeera is the mouthpiece of CIA/MI6 in Arab world.

RT disses Al jazeera who then disses RT both have definite biases and since they compete in the same international english markets this kind of makes sense.

As often as i hear that AJ is the dog of mi6/cia they have been consistently skeptical of that absurd iranian plot, the iraq war, and very unfriendly coverage for fast and furious. I watch RT and AJ everyday for my international news no need for fans of either to fight with each other

LOL.... How ironic that "Al Jazeera" ,scrutinized for years as being nothing more than a mouth piece for islamic fundementalism, is now doing the SAME hit job on "Russia Today".

RT provides better US/World news than most other outlets. Reporting on "fringe ideas" as you would describe it is what I would call "journalism". News needs to tells us what we don't know, not parrot the status quo.

I'd like to see more indepth coverage of "Russia", but that doesn't discount the news they do cover.

I love both RT and AJ. I know they are both bias towards their own sides but they still give way better news than other media outlets like CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC.
