(Y) To start, I'll give the band's introduction; the history of the pillows. We formed in September of '89, and made our major debut with the song "ame ni utaeba" in '91.
After that, we released two albums, MOON GOLD and White Incarnation, a member left, and we switched to King Records. For two years, we haven't released anything, but this year, July '94, now three members, we're coming back by releasing an album called KOOL SPICE.
*NAKED SHUFFLE*
(Y) You just heard Monochrome Lovers and NAKED SHUFFLE off of the album KOOL SPICE. The title KOOL SPICE is...very fitting to the pillows of now, but it's very much a pillows that has become three members. This is a seven-song album. More than the title, this "revived" feeling is especially...I won't really say more than that there's "cool" parts and a sort of tingling feel to it, but it's the sort of album that's got an extremely cool excitement to it. I'd like to have you hear a lot more about this, but yeah...
(M) When we recorded KOOL SPICE, as a group that had become three members, we tried a lot of new things, but the main thing was we challenged ourselves by doing self-production. Self-production is, explained simply, is probably that the three of us choose the final way the songs end up, I guess. That was the first real challenge we faced, but I feel like this album was influenced directly by the things we liked and wanted to do with it. This album is our first time with guest musicians and such, and it had been two years since we had last done recording, so we tried a lot of new things. After we were done it was a real feeling of completion.
(S) Aah! Enough. Aah!
(Y) Hahaha, what?
(M) What is it?
(S) Man, if you were to hear this, it's really cool stuff.
(Y) Hahaha, all of a sudden "AAAH!!!" Hahaha!

*kouen~tasogare no Waltz~*
(Y) You just listened to "kouen~tasogare no Waltz~," but now I'd like to move on to the new single, DAYDREAM WONDER. This song has the feeling of how from my childhood and schooldays, I was always caught up by a fascination with music, I was sort of always chasing after it. I don't care if everybody is about music or not, but if you think of your respective important thing while listening to it, I think it'll probably really grab you.
(M) Well, for DAYDREAM WONDER, Jin Yoshida, who was sending love calls for a while was there...
(Y) SALON MUSIC.
(M) ...the guy from SALON MUSIC. Although he's done a lot of production for us, this time was the first time where we were able to work alongside him. With the things we've been working on doing now the pillows, and myself as a guitarist in this new situation, I think we've achieved a very positive, forward-looking production.
(S) That's right. Even with drumming stuff, Jin would grin and make suggestions like "if you try it like this...," and work with me too.
(Y) Simple but...
(S) Simple, but cool. I feel like it's simple but deep, but I guess just listen to it later.
(Y) Hahahahaha. Well, about what we're going to do next. Starting in October, we'll be doing a tour entitled "DAYDREAM TOUR." We'll be going to Nagoya, Oosaka, Toukyou, and Sapporo.
(M) These are our current plans, but the three of us think it'd be nice to release a new album at the beginning of next year.
(S) Look forward to it. Like you won't separate from the pillows at all.
(Y) Haha, you sound so self-important, all by yourself, haha.
(S) Wait with great anticipation.
(Y) Well then. This is Sawao Yamanaka; right now, I think that the band has been able to make extremely fun, good-feeling music very naturally, and that the band is doing really well right now. I'm really happy about it.
(M) I'm Pee. This is something I've thought for a while, but I continue to think that in both lives and CDs, the thing most important to the pillows, deep down, is that we want to communicate with our music.
(S) Shin'ichirou, the drummer. It's been like that up to now, and from now on after all, we'll do it with the feeling that today could be our last live, that we could die tomorrow...
(Y) Hehe, I like that lately.
(S) At both recordings and lives, I want to keep trying hard and showing what we can do, but no matter how hard I try I'm bad at coconut milk.
